OCC Summer Holiday Scheme

Our summer holiday scheme, which ran throughout the month of August, provided children with an engaging programme of activities each weekday from 9am. The scheme offered an accessible opportunity for children to take part in a mix of enriching experiences and activities during the school holidays.

Throughout the scheme, the children participated in a wide variety of activities designed to encourage creativity, exploration and learning in a safe and supportive environment. They took part in arts and craft sessions, as well structured games and sports and outdoor play areas. They also had more hands-on and educational visits, where they saw and learnt about different animals, took part in a VR headset experience, visited famous historical landmarks and much more. Every day brought something new.

A huge thank you to our volunteers who dedicated their time and energy each day to create a safe, inclusive, and joyful space where the children could explore their creativity, stay active, and develop new skills.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to our funder Feeding Britain, whose generous support has made this project possible. Their support has enabled us to deliver this programme and we have been able to offer an affordable, enriching summer experience for local children that’s filled with fun, growth, and community spirit.
