About Us

Our Community Cares Solutions (OCC) is a dedicated charity based in Barking Road, London, we are committed to being a lifeline for the most vulnerable members of our community. While our doors are open to everyone, our heart and expertise lie in supporting women who are navigating the trauma of domestic violence.
We specialise in helping women who often fall through the gaps of the system particularly refugees, elderly. and those with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF). For many of our service users, English is a second language, and the barriers to finding safety and support can feel insurmountable. We provide cultural understanding and advocacy they need to find their voices and their safety.
At Our Community Care Solution, we believe in a holistic approach to care. Our services include:
  • Specialist Support: Advocacy and guidance for women experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse.
  • Food Security: A community food bank and hot meals, providing essential nutrition to the homeless and those in financial crisis.
  • Mental Health & Wellbeing: Tailored support, exercise sessions, and workshops designed to rebuild confidence and mental resilience.
  • A Sanctuary for all: A warm, inclusive environment at our Barking Road base where anyone in need can find a helping hand and a supportive community.
Founded by an experienced counsellor and community project leader with over 20 years of experience supporting vulnerable adults, including those affected by domestic abuse, grief, loss, and mental health challenges. A qualified counsellor for 5+ years and an accredited member of BACP, committed to ethical practice and client wellbeing. Skilled in active listening, building trust, managing caseloads, and facilitating both individual and group sessions. Founder and project manager of Our Community Cares Solutions, with a strong track record in community engagement, volunteer management, and partnership building. Compassionate, professional, and dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities.
We don’t just offer services, we offer a solution built on compassion, dignity, and the belief that everyone deserves a life free from violence and hunger.

OCC is committed to fostering a community where family values are nurtured, and women are empowered. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to anyone that is a victim of domestic abuse especially women, ensuring their safety and well-being. We aim to uplift women through education, training, and employment programs, enabling them to achieve independence and fulfilment. Additionally, we strive to create recreational facilities and opportunities that enhance the overall quality of life for women in our community.
 
Our vision is to foster a compassionate and inclusive community where family values are cherished and are empowered to reach their full potential. We are dedicated to supporting victims of domestic abuse by providing comprehensive assistance and resources. Through education, training, and employment programs, we aim to uplift women and enable them to lead independent, fulfilling lives. Additionally, we strive to create recreational facilities and opportunities that promote the well-being and engagement of women within our community.
As well as this we are partnered with Newham Food Alliance, The Felix Project, Feeding Britain and City Harvest, all of which provide us with food.
