Everyone should have a right to food
Another week has rolled over, and the intense summer heat continues to bear down upon us, tempting everyone into the safety of their homes. Even so, Our Community Cares’ (OCC) diligently sets up their weekly food pantry to assist our food members on the 3rd of July!
Last week featured easy to make fries from the reputable brand, McCain – a wonderful side dish for anything our food members could cook up, and in simple to store bags that could be frozen for another occasion!
Furthermore, we had our usual, colourful and fresh variety of fruits and vegetables. As well as, Staples for creating a hearty meal, such as pasta or bread, with canned sauces to outlast the summer.
Despite the harsh weather of June and the beginning of July, our volunteers demonstrated dedication and kindness by consistently opening up our food pantry for it’s food members, because OCC believes that no one should go hungry or feel isolated, and with every success, OCC continues to alleviate the burden for those unseen or unheard in our local community.
