On the Saturday, 15th of August 2026, Our Community Cares (OCC) hosted their annual barbecue, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm, to resounding success and festivity!
Everyone who purchased a ticket was able to feast on the variety that OCC had to offer; chicken, hamburger and jollof, and even some vegetarian options, samosa, potato salad and spring rolls! Their first meal included a cup of water to go with it but there were canned drinks for a bargain of 50p each (what a steal!).
Adults gathered around as a community, and socialised with one another to reduce loneliness, or enjoyed a wonderfully cooked meal fresh from the grill to help alleviate hunger. While the children were entertained with games and activities, such as, musical chairs, dancing and drawing, after exhausting themselves from grooving to the beat.
Whatever the reason for purchasing your ticket, OCC is delighted to have hosted an event where individuals could forget about their difficult situations, and simply smile due to a wonderful time.
We would also like to thank you our OCC volunteers for taking their time to come out and assist with the event by donating food and their time to help run this event, this wouldn’t have been possible without you!
